Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has paid tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, on what would have been the young boy’s seventh birthday, expressing how much he and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, continue to miss him.

The singer shared the emotional message on Tuesday, October 20, as family, friends and fans remembered the child who passed on October 2022.

Taking to social media, Davido wrote: “LLI 🕊️ Happy birthday, son … Me and mommy miss and love you! Keep flying high ❤️.”

The short message reflected the family’s enduring love for Ifeanyi, whose death deeply affected the couple and sparked an outpouring of condolences from across the entertainment industry.

Ifeanyi was born on October 20, 2019, to Davido and Chioma. He passed on October 31, 2022, aged three, after drowning in a swimming pool at the family’s residence in Lagos, Nigeria.

His death shocked fans across Africa, with many following the family’s journey through grief and their eventual return to public life.

Davido and Chioma later welcomed twins in October 2023, a year after their son’s death. The couple have continued to share parts of their lives publicly while keeping much of their children’s lives private.
