The movement is still slow but at least travellers are relieved the visible steps are being taken to ensure normalcy.
Authorities have asked people to be patient, while they work to resolve the situation, and motorists should not exacerbate the problem by flouting the rules of the road.
Meanwhile, hawkers and residents in nearby localities have made a business out of the gridlock by selling food, water, and other essentials to the stranded travelers.
Makeshift stalls dotted the highway, bringing rescue to travelers stranded for several hours.
