Maasai Mara Graduate Dies in Accident Week after Graduation

The family and friends of a recent Maasai Mara University graduate have been left heartbroken following her untimely death. Melissa Jepchumba (left) had just graduated from Maasai Mara University.  Melissa Jepchumba from Mogoget village in Nandi county died in a grisly accident along Narok Highway on Saturday, December 14. What course did Melissa Jepchumba pursue?

 The horrible accident came less than a week after her graduation, which took place on Monday, December 9.   Melissa’s classmate told TUKO.co.ke that the deceased had just graduated with a diploma in social work and community development Chemusei Member of Parliament Biego Paul Kibichiy visited Melissa’s family and consoled with them.

 In his message, Kibichiy said it was an immense loss to the family, given Melissa had just embarked on a promising future after her graduation. “With profound sorrow, I extended my deepest condolences to Mr. & Mrs John Sirtui of the Kapsirtui family Mogoget village this evening following the untimely passing on of their daughter Melissa Jepchumba, who was involved in a road accident along Narok Highway. 

“It is an immense loss since Melissa had just embarked on a promising future after graduating from Maasai Mara University on 9th December. I pray that God’s Grace, cherished memories, and comforting embrace of friends ease their grief during this sad moment,” Kibichiy said. How Narok accident happened Melisa died incident in an accident in the Tegero area along Narok-Bomet Road. 

According to the police, the crash took place at around 4:00 in the morning when a Toyota saloon car and a bus ferrying 4 passengers collided. It involved a Toyota vehicle heading towards Narok and an Easy coach bus from the opposite direction. According to the police report, the driver of the Toyota lost control of the vehicle, veering off its lane and colliding with the bus. Melissa died on the spot, while three other passengers sustained minor injuries.
