As a migrant worker, she faced long hours and tough conditions. The emotional and financial toll was immense, leaving her yearning for the solace of home. But instead of relief, she has encountered rejection and hostility, further compounding her struggles. “I feel like I’m going crazy,” Peris admitted.
“I haven’t had a moment to rest, either in Lebanon or here. The weight of depression is overwhelming.” Empty-handed, with children to feed and no potential job opening, Peris longs to rebuild her life.
