Three kids perish in Eldoret house fire

Three children have died in a housefire in the Yamumbi Estate in the Outskirts of Eldoret town.

According to reports,  the children aged between 1 and 8 years were alone at home when the tragedy struck.

Reports indicate the children were locked inside the house by their mother, who had left for work.

The children’s grandfather, Onesmus Githinji, said he checked on them around 11:30 p.m. last night to make sure they were asleep before heading home.

He later received a distressing call informing him of the tragic incident.

Neighbours said they tried everything they could to put out the fire and save the children, but it was in vain.

Kapseret Subcounty Police Commander Zephania Kamuren confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
