President William Ruto has given a seven-day ultimatum to Kenya Power and other state agencies that have not complied with the single-pay bill system. President William Ruto wants all state agencies to shift their services to eCitizen.  Why Ruto wants agencies to migrate payments to eCitizen Besides Kenya Power, other agencies yet to shift their services to the eCitizen platform include the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

Speaking on Thursday, November 28, to mark the first anniversary of the eCitizen Directorate at KICC, Ruto directed the agencies to shift their services to the platform. “These agencies have yet to comply with my directive that their services, payments and revenues must be on the eCitizen platform so that the National Treasury can follow up on revenues that are being collected by the government,” Ruto said.

The president said digitisation of government services aims to curb corruption and improve service delivery. “The digitisation of government services has improved efficiency in service delivery, saving time and money for both citizens and the government. Building on this success, we are striving to ensure all government transactions are conducted online. No government ministry, department or agency will be allowed to undermine the digitisation programme of government services,” Ruto warned.
