Eric Omondi Feted with Major Honour

Eric Omondi was among the Kenyans honored by the National Council of Community-Based Organizations (NCBOC) for his philanthropic work.

The comedian attended the event with his fiancée, Lynne Njihia, who praised him for his dedication to helping others.

On stage, Eric expressed his gratitude for being recognized for his charity work, looking sharp in a brown double-breasted suit with a tie.

Accepting the award, he dedicated it to Kenyans for their support in helping him achieve his mission of changing one life at a time.

“TEAM SISI KWA SISI, YOU DID IT!!! Yesterday was a Great Day! We won Humanitarian of the Year at the National Council of Community Based Organizations at Serena Hotel. MUNGU MBELE!!!” he said.

The National Council of Community-Based Organizations is a registered non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization founded in 2005 and incorporated in 2006.

It serves as an assembly for grassroots organizations and currently has over 52,000 registered CBO member groups nationwide.

Eric’s philanthropic efforts have significantly impacted Kenyans across various communities. One of his most notable achievements includes completing the construction of the Kisii bridge, named Baby Kemunto Bridge.

He was motivated to act after a video went viral of a young schoolgirl crossing a dangerously constructed bridge.

“We will name this bridge Kemunto after the girl who risked her life so the whole world could hear about the Bridge of Death,” he stated, calling upon Kenyans for support through Kemunto’s father, Thomas Ondabu Obure. Eric led fundraising efforts, noting they were close to their target and only short Ksh 340,000 to complete the bridge as of January 20.

Throughout the year, Eric has raised funds for numerous causes. Here are some comments from Kenyans celebrating his well-deserved recognition:
