Comedian Herman Kago aka Prof Hamo recently delighted his fans by sharing a nostalgic memory of his time as a musician.
The comedian posted a throwback photo featuring the seven members of the Tamasha Band, a group he was part of back in the day.
The band included Gideon Musyoka, Robert Mabonu, Faith Mwende, Eliud Nderitu, Anthony Njagi, Robert Riziki, and Herman Kago.
Reflecting on this pivotal time in his journey, Prof Hamo captioned the band photo with humour: “Mtukufu rais hawa unaoona wameteseka hivi ni kikundi cha bendi ya @tamashaband katika harakati zao za kuzindua kanda yani CD Yao ya kwanza yenye thana ya mashida zitaisha tuu.”
Prof Hamo shared that his love for music blossomed even before he ventured into comedy. “😄😄😄😄 makinika #KeepBelieving 2009 was the year—big dreams and a full tank of hope. Look now where God has taken us!”
The Tamasha Band was formed in 2011 as part of a program by Tears Group Kenya, which required participants to form a band in order to graduate.
This weekend, the band will perform alongside reggae sensation Glen Washington at Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC). In August, they shared the stage with Gilad Millo, the “Balozi wa Mapenzi,” known for his soulful ballads.
