Residents of Eldoret enjoy bread and soda at the Eldoret sports club

As school buses stream into Eldoret Sports Club, its passengers are met with a loaf and soda for breakfast.

The Club is filled with men and women, who at this point are not only full but are filled with joy because of what the day holds.

Months of preparation are finally over as the town is to be elevated to City status, becoming Kenya’s fifth.

President William Ruto is expected to lead the event, that is meant to officially seal Eldoret as the City of Champions.

The stage has already been set, with entertainers taking it before the ceremony officially begins.
