Comedian Onjiri, whose real name is Peter Ouma, has publicly apologised for his negative remarks about Eric Omondi. Comedian Onjiri (r) asks for forgiveness after falsely accusing Eric Omondi of transferring Fred’s body to village morgue. In a trending video, Onjiri claimed the comedian for allegedly transferring his departed brother, Fred Omondi, to a village morgue. Why did Onjiri slam Eric Omondi? He had argued that this move would deny Fred’s Nairobi fans the opportunity to mourn him as they might not have the resources to travel to the village for last respects. Onjiri then asked Eric to allow Fred to receive his last minutes of fame without limiting him. “Fred had fans, most of whom are here in Nairobi. They might want to see his body and pay their last respects, but you have transferred him to Sega, and I know most of them can’t afford to travel to Sega. What are you afraid of? Or you don’t want people to see your village? I beg you and request that you, Fred, exit the stage and give him his last standing ovation. Give him his last 15 minutes of fame,” he said. Onjiri apologises after misleading claims TUKO.co.ke established that Fred’s body was still in Naoribi’s Chiromo mortuary and not transferred to the village, as Onjiri purported. TUKO.co.ke contacted Onjiri, and he apologised for falsely accusing Eric of transferring Fred’s body to Sega. Onjiri said he was misled by somebody to believe that Fred’s body had been transferred to Siaya. “I’m so sorry, and I want to ask Eric Omondi to forgive me. Somebody was misled, and that’s why I made the video. I have also confirmed that Fred’s body is still in Chiromo Mortuary,” Onjiri, who was Fred’s close friend, said. Fred’s funeral organiser also spoke to TUKO.co.ke and dismissed Onjiri’s claims. “Fred’s body is still in Nairobi. Onjiri’s claims are untrue,” said the organiser.
