Margaret Njeri, the mum whose baby’s body had been retained in hospital over a KSh 100,000 bill, has finally buried her sweet angel. Wanjiku undergoes treatment for brain condition Njeri lost her sweet baby, Winnie Wanjiku, who had been undergoing treatment for brain and heart conditions at the Kenyatta National Hospital and died about two weeks ago. While the hospital was kind enough to waive part of the bill, the family required KSh 100,000 to get their daughter’s body for burial, and when well-wishers heard about it, they swung into action and raised the whole amount. Wanjuku buried in Murang’a county According to Derrick Mbugua, the baby was buried at Njeri’s maternal home in Murang’a county and not at her matrimonial home. “Pole sana Margaret Njeri may God comfort you at your lowest moment. It is well,” he told her after she had obtained her daughter’s body for burial. “Her father did not show up to help bury her or participate in any way. He maintained that no one in his family is disabled and said that I knew what I had done to that baby,” she explained to TUKO.co.ke. The mother of three, all deceased, said that she would never forgive the father of the three kids. ” My family has been by my side and they are praying for me, taking good care of me. Iam focusing on healing from grief, and also want to vacate this place. I hope to start a business in future,” she said.
