Kenyan content creator Miss Choice has opened up about her much-talked-about “Russian incident,”shedding light on how she met the man at the centre of the online storm.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo’s Bustani La Masawe show, Miss Choice narrated how what started as a chance encounter at the airport quickly turned into a whirlwind romance that has since sparked heated debate across social media.
How They Met
According to her, the meeting happened on August 5th while she was preparing to travel to Mombasa for a one-week summer vacation.

She explained that the manintroduced himself as a streamer and told her he would be recording much ofwhat they would do together.
He also suggested they hang out that same evening and catch a midnight flight, assuring her that he would pay for a bigger flight.
“When we met aliniambia, he is a streamer na atakuaakirecord a lot of things we do together. Na kama haumind tuhung out this evening tucatch a midnight flight. I will pay a bigger flight, si unajua tu how men will tell you these things just to win your trust,” she added.
Her candid admission about men sometimes saying things to gain trust immediately caught the attention of listeners and, later, online audiences.
From Stranger to Boyfriend
Despite the speed of events, Miss Choice maintained that their connection developed naturally.
“But at that point tulianza kujuana polepole and that’s why I tell you he is my boyfriend… I know he’s a stranger, but guys, if you meet with a guy he’s a stranger today, a friend tomorrow and a boyfriend in a few weeks,” she explained.

Her statement has since divided netizens.
While some supported her perspective, saying relationships can begin unexpectedly, others criticised the rapid progression and questioned the risks of trusting someone met just hours earlier.
Public Reaction
The so-called Russian incident has continued to trend, especially on TikTok and Instagram, with fans dissecting every detail of her story.
Many have referenced her own words about trust and fast-growing relationships, using them to either defend or challenge her decisions.
Supporters argue that love stories often begin in unconventional ways and that meeting someone during travel is not unusual.
They point out that airports and vacations have long been associated with spontaneous connections.
Critics, however, have raised concerns about safety and the influence of social media culture, where content creation sometimes overlaps with personal relationships.
The fact that the man reportedly mentioned recording their activities together has also fueled conversations about privacy and clout-chasing.
Her words — “he’s a stranger today, a friend tomorrow and a boyfriend in a few weeks” — have become one of the most quoted lines from the interview, symbolising the fast-paced nature of many contemporary relationships.
