The Tanzanian digital community is mourning the death of popular content creator Tifa Dangote, whose real name is Latifa Sudi Mfaume.
News of her passing was confirmed by her family through Tanzanian outlet Global TV Online, prompting an outpouring of grief from fans across social media.
According to the family’s account, Tifa developed complications shortly after delivering her baby. She reportedly gave birth at Kilakala Hospital in Dar es Salaam, where she began experiencing heavy bleeding.
Medical staff attempted to stabilise her before transferring her to TMK Hospital, also in Dar es Salaam, for further care.
Despite efforts by doctors, Tifa died while receiving treatment. Her newborn child also passed away shortly after delivery, the family confirmed.

Family recounts her final moments
Tifa’s mother told Global TV that the family’s last communication with her daughter came shortly before the delivery.
“She called before giving birth, asking how we were doing,” the grieving mother recalled. “She told me she had been induced, and that is the last conversation we had.”
When calls to Tifa later went unanswered, her mother reached out to a relative who informed her that Tifa had begun bleeding and was being taken to another facility for emergency care.
“I was only informed that her baby had died,” she said.
She added that she later received a call from her son-in-law, who relayed the news of Tifa’s death through a neighbour:
“He told my neighbour that Tifa had passed away but asked them not to break the news to me directly,” the mother said.
A rising content creator gone too soon
Tifa Dangote was an emerging digital personality whose light-hearted videos, lifestyle content, and collaborations with fellow creators earned her a growing audience on TikTok and Instagram.
Her sudden passing has sparked widespread condolences from fans, friends, and fellow content creators in Tanzania.
Authorities have not issued an official medical statement regarding her cause of death, but postpartum haemorrhage remains one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in Tanzania, according to the Ministry of Health and multiple WHO reports.
Funeral arrangements are underway, with family members requesting privacy as they grieve the loss of both mother and child.
