Kenya Police FC have parted ways with head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, with his exit coming after a poor run in the CAF Champions League that saw the club bow out at the hands of Sudan’s Al Hilal on Friday, October 24, 2025.
The Law Enforcers were eliminated on a 4-1 aggregate, losing 1-0 in Nairobi before suffering a 3-1 defeat in the return leg played in Benghazi, Libya. Their campaign had started on shaky ground after a 2-0 home loss to Mogadishu City Club in the preliminary round second leg, but they advanced on the away goals rule after winning 3-1 in the first leg both matches staged at Nyayo Stadium.
Ndayiragije joined Kenya Police FC on November 29, 2024, succeeding Salim Babu at a time when the club sat 17th on the table with just eight points. He went on to oversee a remarkable turnaround, guiding the team to their first-ever FKF Premier League title and a historic qualification for the CAF Champions League.
Announcing his departure, the club stated, “Kenya Police FC wishes to announce to the general public that effective 29th October 2025, it has mutually parted ways with the Head Coach Mr. Ettiene Ndayaragije.”
The club further acknowledged his contribution, noting, “During his tenure, Mr. Ndayaragije diligently steered the Club to bag its maiden league trophy. Owing to his desiring needs to individually advance his career and experience, Mr. Ettiene requested the Club allow him to pursue greener pastures and newer challenges.”
“The Club acceded to this request. Mr. Ettiene has a special place in Kenya Police FC history. The Club’s Board of Directors and the Executive take this opportunity to wish him the best of luck even as he pursues bigger challenges within newer coaching frontiers,” the statement added.
Kenya Police now shift focus back to their domestic campaign, where they are looking to defend their FKF Premier League crown. The champions currently sit 16th on the table with one win and a draw from their opening two matches, just one point above bottom-placed APS Bomet.
