Is It Real or Deepfake? Passaris Calls for Probe into Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Disturbing Clip

The controversial preacher Apostle James Ng’ang’a of the Neno Evangelism Ministry has again attracted national attention. This follows the wide circulation of a video clip online.

The undated clip allegedly shows Pastor Ng’ang’a making disturbing comments during a church service. The video has sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms.

The Unverified Confession

In the circulating video, Pastor Ng’ang’a is heard confessing to a serious past crime. He allegedly told a silent congregation that he was part of an eight-person gang that assaulted a woman many years ago.

His alleged remarks were blunt:

“We assaulted one woman while we were eight people. We did it.”

These disturbing sentiments instantly went viral. However, it is crucial to note that the authenticity of the clip remains unverified.

Passaris Calls for Criminal Investigation

Among those shocked by the preacher’s alleged words was Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris. She immediately took to her X account on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, demanding swift action.

Ms Passaris called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to launch an investigation. She highlighted the modern reality of digital manipulation.

“In this era of AI-generated and manipulated videos, I don’t know if the clip is genuine or a deep fake; but one thing remains, it MUST be investigated,” Passaris wrote.

The lawmaker stressed that if the video proves to be genuine, the situation changes dramatically. She argues that if the confession is real, it is not a sermon but a criminal confession.

In this event, the famous preacher must be immediately arrested and face criminal charges. She insisted that the alleged confession should have been flagged instantly by authorities.

“If that video is real, then it is not a sermon, it is a criminal confession. It should have been flagged instantly, and the pastor picked up for questioning by the authorities.”

Focus on the Victim and Justice

Passaris challenged Pastor Ng’ang’a to surrender to the nearest police station if the video is genuine. She also asked him to name his accomplices to ensure justice is delivered.

“As a man of God, if the pastor did make that confession, he should surrender himself to the police, name the eight others involved, and help deliver justice for the survivor.”

The Nairobi Woman Representative expressed profound concern for the survivor of the alleged assault. She raised several unanswered questions about the victim’s current well-being.

Passaris stated: “I keep wondering where the woman is today? How has her life been since that ordeal?”.

She prayed for the victim and for all survivors of gang rape.
