“My Body Is Completely Broken”: Jovial Opens Up on Traumatic Childbirth

In a recent candid video shared on social media, musician Jovial offered a raw and honest glimpse into the demanding realities of new motherhood.

Her reflections delved into the unexpected challenges of raising a newborn, while surprisingly concluding with her desire to expand her family further. The Unvarnished Realities of Bringing Up Baby

Jovial opened up about her current experience with a newborn, describing it as a truly humbling journey.

She spoke plainly about the intense personal struggles she is facing.

“Wallahi kama una roho ndogo, don’t ever get pregnant. Kulea will humble you. My goodness,” she remarked.

The musician detailed several specific difficulties. Her baby is currently dealing with both colic and congestion, conditions that can cause significant distress for infants and sleepless nights for parents.

Beyond her baby’s health, Jovial also shared her own physical discomfort, experiencing nipple soreness.

This is a common challenge for breastfeeding mothers, exacerbated by the constant feeding schedule.

“Hakuna kulala, because when the baby wakes up, you have to wake up as well,” she explained.

A Mother’s Trust and Unique Challenges

A recurring theme in Jovial’s sharing was her strong desire for personal involvement in her baby’s upbringing, driven by what she described as “trust issues”.

She expressed a clear preference to manage her baby’s care herself.

“I don’t want anybody to touch my baby,” she stated, emphasising her need to be the primary caregiver. “I want to take care of myself. I am okay, willing, and able. I want to take care of my baby myself,” she reiterated.

The musician also noted a significant difference in her current experience compared to her past. She revealed that she had not experienced this with her first child at all.Despite the Ordeal, A Desire for More

Despite the exhaustion, physical pain, and the overwhelming nature of dealing with a baby full of colic and congestion, Jovial concluded her video with a remarkable declaration.

Even after navigating these intense difficulties, her spirit remains unbroken and her desire for more children persists.

“Frankly speaking, I’m still going to have another one.”

Early last month, Jovial shed light on the difficult and often unspoken challenges of motherhood, revealing her traumatic delivery experience and ongoing recovery.

In a heartfelt post on social media, she described the immense toll that childbirth has taken on her body and mind and also planned to take a break from social media.

“I am taking a break… a break from social media. My body is completely broken, broken into small pieces, and I don’t know how to put the pieces back! 8 hours of prolonged labor and still went under the knife! 9 cm dilated for 8 hours. I’m still traumatized, you can even see it on my face! Anyway, God is my strength and I want to go on this healing journey calm and quietly,” she wrote.
