Kenyan music artist Arrow Bwoy has publicly offered to represent Kenyan celebrities in a boxing match against Ugandan, Shakib Cham Lutaaya.
The challenge has ignited a fresh wave of excitement in the celebrity boxing scene, setting the stage for a potential East African showdown.

Arrow Bwoy Accepts the Challenge
The “Digi Digi” hitmaker discovered Shakib’s challenge to Kenyan artists while scrolling through his Instagram feed.
Shakib had reportedly called out any Kenyan celebrity for a boxing match, a challenge Arrow Bwoy was quick to accept.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Arrow Bwoy stated, “I’ve been yarning for this. Too. Ladies and gentlemen, the meal is ready. And yes, I’m up for the challenge.”

A Warning for Zari Hassan
In his acceptance message, Arrow Bwoy also included a notable warning for Shakib regarding his wife, the celebrated socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan.
He specifically asked Shakib not to bring Zari to the fight.
Arrow Bwoy articulated his concern: “Please don’t tag along your woman because she might faint and we might have a double tragedy. You know, I don’t want that to happen to this beautiful lady.”
He then directly addressed Zari, saying, “Zari, if you’re hearing this, Just send your boy to come and collect the beating beatings international beatings then call me Arrow Bwoy and I’m out and I’m up for the challenge.”

Shakib’s Fiery Response
Shakib Cham Lutaaya, husband to Zari Hassan, responded to the acceptance via his Instagram stories. He embraced the growing challenge, referring to it as his comeback.
“I’m calling this the return of Shakib Cham,” he declared. Shakib noted that he had called out Kenyan celebrities, and they had responded “loud and clear.”
He affirmed his readiness, stating, “The fire is back, the gloves are on – UG vs KE, let’s make history.”

Willy Paul’s Reluctance: Zari’s Fandom Prevails
This recent development follows an earlier response from another prominent Kenyan music artist, Willy Paul.
Shakib Cham Lutaaya had initially challenged Kenyan artists, but Willy Paul declined to participate in a boxing match with him.
Willy Paul’s decision was primarily influenced by his admiration for Shakib’s wife, Zari Hassan.
He expressed personal appreciation for Shakib, saying, “I’m a huge fan of yours, my brother”. However, this respect was superseded by Zari’s perceived fandom for Willy Paul.

“I don’t advocate for that because your wife is a huge fan of mine,” Willy Paul explicitly stated, linking his refusal directly to Zari’s alleged admiration.
Despite his diplomatic stance, Willy Paul maintained confidence in his fighting ability, describing himself as “a bad man” and recalling a past metaphorical victory: “Remember I killed a lion? I turned a lion into a rat.” This suggested his refusal was a deliberate choice, not a lack of confidence.
Willy Paul did make one exception in Shakib’s circle, singling out Tanzanian megastar Diamond Platnumz, whom he referred to as “the other guy” or “Lion,” due to an existing “beef”.

Shakib’s Recent Setback in the Ring
Shakib’s challenge to Kenyan artists comes shortly after he suffered a significant knockout defeat in a boxing match just days prior. The event, “The Kampala Rumble,” saw Shakib Cham Lutaaya knocked out by Ugandan musician Rickman Manrick.
The highly anticipated celebrity boxing clash took place on August 30, 2025, at MTN Arena Lugogo in Kampala, Uganda. After weeks of heated exchanges and trash talk, the bout ended sooner than many expected.
In the second round, Shakib was caught by a devastating counterpunch from Rickman after appearing to drop his guard.

The blow sent Shakib “crashing to the canvas,” causing an eruption of excitement and disbelief in the packed arena.
Zari Hassan, who was present at ringside, was visibly shaken by the knockout. Eyewitnesses reported that the mother of five appeared distressed, clutching her head in disbelief as medics rushed to attend to Shakib.
