A heartwarming video has captured the priceless reaction of a Homa Bay mother who thought she was blessing her son’s new car, only to discover it was her 70th birthday gift. Kisumu Mum Prays for Son’s New Car, Only to Discover It’s Her Birthday Surprise: “God is Great” The video, shared by YouTuber Jael of the Village, shows a black Nissan X-Trail being driven into the family compound by her younger brother, Sam. Jael’s mother blessed new car With KD registration plates, the SUV was a fresh import that had yet to be officially registered in Kenya.  Thinking the vehicle belonged to her son, the dotting mother came out with holy water and sprinkled it over the car.

She then shut her eyes and began to pray fervently over it. Just as she concluded her prayer with an “amen,” her son handed her the car keys and revealed that the vehicle was hers. For a moment, the birthday celebrant looked confused, unable to process the surprise. But when her son insisted, she stepped inside the car, her face lighting up with joy and disbelief. Jael’s mother overwhelmed by gesture Overwhelmed with emotion, she kept repeating, “God is great,” as she showered Sam with blessings for the unforgettable gift. Jael revealed that her mother was yet to learn how to drive, so she would ensure she enrols into a driving school soon to enjoy the gift. “She has always shared my dad’s or my car, so there have been moments when she gets stuck because both cars are tied up. Now she has her own,” said Jael. The touching moment has since warmed hearts online, with many praising the son for honouring his mother in such a special way.
