Shorn Arwa’s Comments on Prince Indah Stirs Furious Debate

Kenyan social media personality and content creator Shorn Arwa has sparked conversation online after sharing her candid thoughts about celebrated Ohangla artist Prince Indah’s recent live performance.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Shorn revealed that she had watched Prince Indah perform for the very first time and, despite the hype surrounding his shows, she was left with mixed feelings.

“I watched Prince Indah perform for the first time yesterday,” she began. “This is from somebody who’s watched him being so hyped, and I want to believe from the posts he should have been the man of the night. I want to believe. But for me, I don’t think Prince Indah is an entertainer. I think he is more of a musician, a singer.”

Shorn emphasised that, in her opinion, Prince Indah’s music might be better enjoyed through recorded platforms rather than in a live setting.

“I think it’s better when we listen to his music on YouTube. I do not think he’s an entertainer. I do not think, and I don’t stand to be corrected. That’s my own opinion—take it to the bank,” she stated.

The outspoken influencer contrasted Prince Indah’s performance with another act she witnessed on the same night.

She described this unnamed musician as having brought along a lively acrobatic dancer, which, in her view, made the show more engaging.

“There was this one who came with some dancer. I don’t even know how much he pays those guys because the guy was dancing. I don’t think the bill can be that high. How much is that guy’s bills? And let me tell you, that particular musician that was with that acrobatic dancer wasn’t like doing much, but you could tell he is an entertainer,” she remarked.

Shorn’s review has stirred online debate, with some fans agreeing that a great voice alone does not necessarily make for an electrifying stage presence, while others defended Prince Indah’s style, arguing that his strength lies in musical artistry rather than showmanship.

Prince Indah, known for his soulful Ohangla hits and often referred to as “Janabi” by his fans, has enjoyed immense popularity in recent years, with sold-out concerts and millions of YouTube streams.

However, Shorn’s comments highlight the ongoing conversation about the balance between vocal talent and entertainment value in live performances.
