Mumbi Maina, the longtime manager of R&B star Otile Brown, has announced her departure. After years of guiding Otile’s career, she says it’s time for a new chapter in her life and career.

“Working with Otile has been a journey I’ll always be proud of — full of growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments.” Mumbi Maina said.

A Thoughtful Decision

Mumbi shared that her choice to step down came after “much thought and reflection.” She emphasised the need for:

A fresh direction for both herself and Otile

“There comes a time when paths naturally shift. For the sake of my peace, purpose, and professional evolution, I believe this is the right time to take a step back.”

Her statement was full of grace and gratitude. She made it clear this was a respectful, mutual decision — not a fallout.

Looking Back with Gratitude

Mumbi thanked Otile for trusting her over the years. She also expressed her appreciation to fans, partners, and everyone involved.

“I remain deeply grateful for the trust he placed in me and for the incredible support from fans, partners, and everyone who has been part of this chapter.”

Otile’s Rise and Mumbi’s Role

Mumbi has been key to Otile Brown’s steady rise in the music scene. Known for her strategic mind and brand-building skills, she helped shape his musical path and image.

Selected as manager because of a long-standing friendship with Otile

Praised by Otile for being trustworthy and intelligent

Credited for elevating Otile’s brand identity and career trajectory

“There are things I look at — are you trustworthy, are you woke? We have been friends, and what I love about her is she is very intelligent.” Otile Brown said.

Otile parted ways with his ex-manager Joseph Noriega in June 2023 after six years of partnership.

What’s next?

Neither Mumbi nor Otile Brown has announced who will take over managerial duties. Fans and industry insiders are keen to see how this transition unfolds.

Mumbi hinted at new ventures ahead, while Otile’s career continues to thrive.

“I continue to wish Otile the very best as he writes the next phase of his story.” Mumbi Maina said.
