Kenya’s Lenkupae Joins Finland’s Vaasan Palloseura on two-year deal

Kenyan international midfielder William “Will” Lenkupae has officially signed a two-year contract with Finnish top-flight club Vaasan Palloseura (VPS), marking a major milestone in his rising career.

The deal, which runs through the 2026 season, was confirmed by the club through its official social media platfroms.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who holds Australian, Kenyan, and UK citizenship, joins VPS from Australia’s A-League side Central Coast Mariners. Lenkupae, also known as Will Wilson during his time Down Under, brings a wealth of experience from both domestic and international stages.

He was also part of the Mariners squad that won both the 2023–24 A-League Premiership and the AFC Cup, before being released at the end of the 2024–25 season.

Internationally, Lenkupae’s star continues to rise. He earned his first call-up to the Kenyan senior team in March 2025 and scored on his debut in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Gambia during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

His move to Europe is a significant step, not only for his career but also for Kenya’s growing representation in football leagues.
