Hanifa Speaks Out on Chilling Threats Ahead of the Protests

Activist Hanifa has spoken out about serious warnings she received ahead of the planned June 25 protests. She says some people want to use her as a target to push their political plans.

Despite fear and constant calls from her worried family, Hanifa says she is not backing down. She says her role in the protests has put her in danger, but she remains committed to standing up for the people.

She fiercely challenged those claiming the protests were funded or staged, daring them to present proof and accusing critics of trying to crush a people’s movement.

She now says her activism has made her a marked target ahead of the planned demonstrations. Hanifa, who has been a constant presence at the frontline of the demonstrations, said her public role has put her under increasing scrutiny and threat ahead of the latest protests.

Speaking during an interview on Milele FM, the activist disclosed that while she remains committed to showing up for the cause, there have been warnings suggesting certain groups could target her.

Hanifa

“I will be there, lazima. Nina, hofu because I am a target for many people. The political infiltration is planning to use me as collateral. I am getting a lot of intel telling me that I am targeted, but it does not change anything; we still march forward. Unajua kama ni siku yako, ni siku yako,” Hanifa disclosed.

She added that her family has been deeply worried, constantly calling her out of concern for her well-being, a reaction she admitted has left her emotionally shaken.

“They have been calling and calling and calling, but there is no turning back right now,” she added

At the same time, Hanifa dismissed claims that she and other activists are being used to push hidden agendas, saying detractors were simply trying to delegitimise a genuine cause.

“Nani? If they have the proof, they can present it. If it were money motivated, they would have given up Kitambo Sana. They have tried to tarnish my name in any way possible, but I am always vindicated. They will literally do anything to delegitimise this, but they just don’t want to accept that people don’t like them,” she said.

Hanifa said that the protests are about the struggles of ordinary people who are tired and have had enough.
