Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has held a constructive bilateral meeting with Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, to strengthen cooperation between Kenya and Finland.
Mudavadi arrived in Helsinki on Sunday, June 15, 2025, and was received by Ambassador Angeline Musili, the Kenyan Ambassador to the Republic of Finland and Nathaniel Taama, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Kenya.
In Finland, he will represent President William Ruto at the 13th edition of the Kultaranta talks, a high-level annual forum on emerging geopolitical dynamics, global security and emerging foreign policy trends.
“Our discussions reaffirmed the strong and evolving partnership between Kenya and Finland, guided by a shared commitment to stability, innovation and sustainable development,” Mudavadi stated.
“I emphasised Kenya’s desire to deepen collaboration with Finland in areas such as regional peace and security, particularly in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes region, as well as much-needed reforms in multilateral institutions.”
He also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and investment, education through scholarships and exchange programs, climate action, green energy, development financing and the growing frontier of ICT and Artificial Intelligence.
