Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Salasya, has offered his followers a touching glimpse into his private life by finally unveiling his baby boy to the public.
The youthful MP, who became a father a few months ago, had previously kept the child out of the spotlight—until now.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, June 12, Salasya shared a heartwarming video of his infant son dressed in a soft blue onesie, resting comfortably on his bed.
In the brief clip, the baby is seen smiling—a tender moment that resonated with many of Salasya’s fans.
The proud father couldn’t help but marvel at the baby’s features, noting the striking resemblance they share.
From the nose to the skin tone, Salasya jokingly remarked that he didn’t need a DNA test to confirm the child was his.
“Mapua ya huyu mtoto ni ya Waluhya,” Salasya captioned the post, cheekily pointing out the Luhya heritage evident in the baby’s appearance. He added, “Ni mweupe kama mimi huyu. Aki huyu hata DNA sitaki. Nimekubali.”
The MP also expressed his desire for the child to be brought to his rural home so that a traditional hair-shaving ceremony could be performed, in line with cultural customs.
Salasya also opened up about how he met the child’s mother. Interestingly, he revealed that their paths crossed during the Gen Z protests last year, hinting that their connection blossomed amidst the chaos of political activism.
The video sparked a flood of reactions online, with fans and followers congratulating him and noting the uncanny resemblance between father and son.
Comments ranged from jokes about the baby’s nose to messages of encouragement for the new dad. “Copy-paste kabisa,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Nowadays ametulia—makes sense now!”
However, others took the opportunity to advise the MP. Some expressed concern about sharing images of such a young child online, warning against potential evil eyes.
“Please Peter, mtoe huyu kiumbe online bado mdogo sana. Wachawi online ndiyo wengi,” one fan commented. Others cheekily urged him to formalise things with the baby’s mother and avoid promoting single motherhood.
Interestingly, Salasya’s recent fatherhood journey comes just months after he publicly addressed his relationship status during an interview on Radio Jambo.
In February 2025, he told hosts Gidi and Ghost that he was not available for romantic pursuits, despite the interest from many women online.
“I want to tell them to remain calm and patient. You might desire me, but actually getting me is where the challenge lies,” he joked.
The legislator explained that he was too occupied with parliamentary duties and ambitions to entertain relationships at the moment.
“I am very busy. Sometimes I am in Nairobi, other times I am at home. I am always on the move, travelling from one place to another to organise things for the people of Mumias East,” he said, reiterating his vision of one day becoming the President of Kenya.

Salasya maintained that marriage is a sacred commitment and would currently distract him from his mission to improve his constituency.
“I’m the only one allowed in my constituency not to marry for now because I have a lot of work to do,” he asserted, highlighting his dedication to constructing schools, roads, and infrastructure for his people.
Still, the outspoken MP has plans for the future. He jokingly revealed that he intends to marry multiple wives—three, to be specific—when the time is right.
