US-based Kenyan promoter Bernice Saroni has opened up on how her divorce affected her.

The mother of four moved to the US after her marriage came to an end years ago.

In a TikTok video, she revealed she moved to the US and left her kids behind for almost a year as she settled down.

Later she came and took them with her.

Through her TitTok, Bernice now alleges she almost took her life after her divorce.

“Divorce is very messy and no one is ever prepared for it.

Divorce has made a lot of women sink into depression or even commit suicide, it has made many people live with anxiety. No one is ever prepared for such days,” Bernice said.

She went on to advise those who might be going through the same.

“Choose yourself, heal and accept. Ukiwachwa wachika.

Don’t lose yourself in the process. Accept, ikikataa imekataa. Dealing with divorce is not easy,” she said in part.

“I was on the verge of taking my life, The mess was too much and I could not have forgiven him. If I had stayed I would have died and it would not have been a natural death. I would have died by suicide.”.

Bernice further appealed to divorced couples to always speak blessings into their lives.

“I was looking at death as a solution to numb my pain.

I was living a good life, my kids were in international schools. People were waiting for me to change my lifestyle,” she stated.

“I had to choose myself and accept that I had to downgrade and I never gave up on myself even when everyone else gave up on me. If it was not for my family’s support and Love I’d be dead and forgotten, divorce is very dirty and messy,”.
