William Ruto Is Afraid of His Cabinet Secretaries, Can’t Fire Them, Alfred Keter Claims

Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has challenged President William Ruto to dissolve his Cabinet. Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter addresses his supporters at a past rally.  Why William Ruto can’t fire Cabinet Secretaries During an interview with Spice FM on Thursday, March 21, the former lawmaker said dissolving the Cabinet would help reset his administration in delivering services to Kenyans.  However, the vocal critic of the head of state said this would be a far-fetched action by the head of state, highlighting incidents when Ruto defended Cabinet Secretaries who were under fire. Keter sensationally claimed that for an unmentioned reason, Ruto was afraid of calling his Cabinet to order. “The president should dissolve his entire cabinet to come up with a fresh one if he wants to help this country but as I’ve seen the way at some stage the media were raising issues of concern about one of the CSs, the president defended. I know him, you might think that he looks like a strong person that he can stand up against what but on a closer look he fears those CSs. He fears for some reason we don’t know. You know they’ve come along way in the may things they’ve done together at the expense of the country. Let me tell you,” he said. Why is Alfred Keter against William Ruto’s Cabinet The former MP also argued that the majority of principal secretaries had not had a career in the civil service. He said this has hampered their delivery since they don’t understand how most dockets they control are to be managed. He criticised Ruto for rewarding election losers with the PS jobs despite being clear they don’t understand working in the ministry. “Out of the 52 PSs, almost 30 are not career civil servants. You know that is a reserve for career civil servants, people who have grown through the ranks, so that you understand a ministry. You are actually the accounting officer of a ministry because you understand the nitty gritties, the challenges, cartels in the ministry so you can address better. But a stranger, a former politician who ran and lost, you make them because you want to compensate or reward him or her with a permanent secretary position,” he added.
