Details Of Sh21M Sarah/Simon Kabu Lawsuit Filed by Woman

In December 2024, a leaked video emerged of a woman alleged to be Sarah Mtalii (Sarah Kabu) assaulting a woman alleged to be their ‘nanny’.

In the video, the ‘nanny’ is seen running off after a brief scuffle with Sarah.

It has now emerged that the couple has been sued by the individual for Sh 21 million in damages.

JK, the ‘nanny’ accuses the couple of privacy violations, cyber harassment, and emotional distress after a CCTV recording from their home allegedly leaked online.

JK maintains she never consented to the surveillance and was unaware she was being recorded, which could be a direct violation of her constitutional right to privacy.

JK further alleged that Simon, either deliberately or negligently, supposedly leaked the footage, exposing her to cyberbullying and reputational damage.

Bonfire Adventure & Events, Simon Kabu and Sarah Njoki Nyaga have been named as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents respectively.

JK is seeking Sh7 million each for sexual harassment, breach of confidentiality and reputational damage.

Simon Kabu has challenged the case, arguing that the Employment and Labour Relations Court has no jurisdiction over the matter.

In the court documents JK was allegedly hired in June 2024 to care for the couple’s children.

According to her, the job became unstable due to the couples ‘troubled marriage’.

Matters escalated in July 2024, when Sarah, who had reportedly moved out, returned unexpectedly and was claimed to have fired JK.

The next morning, the situation allegedly turned violent when Sarah attacked JK with a kitchen knife injuring her arm.

The former ‘nanny’ was supposedly pressured into settling the matter out of court.

After the video emerged, Sarah Kabu introduced her new nannies.

Addressing them, Sarah explained her decision to leave her previous home and set the record straight about ongoing rumours.

“Kuna msichana anasema ni housegirl wangu nilimchapa kule tulitoka… kunaitwanga kwa Pharaoh ama Misri. Ati nilikuwa Misri nikimchapa (There is a girl saying she is my housegirl; I beat her up at my former house… at Pharaoh’s house, or Egypt. She claims I beat her before I moved here),” Sarah said in the video, drawing comparisons between her previous home and Egypt..

Sarah then went on to ask for the unidentified woman to come out and reveal themself:

“I want her to come out and explain who she is in that house or how she got there, or Simon should explain who the lady who was in the house.”
