Cause of Michael Oyier’s death revealed

The cause of death of the late TV Presenter Michael Oyier has been made public.

Michael who was a renowned TV Presenter before venturing in personal projects passed away while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital on 21st April 2024.

Paul Oyier, brother to the late Michael revealed the much loved TV host suffered a stroke.

Speaking during his brother’s memorial, Paul shared

“Michael called and he was speaking gibberish. I couldn’t point out what he was saying.

So I rushed to his room. I knew something was wrong

I found him there, what I saw were signs of a stroke. He was fighting till the end.

He was trying to tell me what to do but he couldn’t talk as one of his sides had been paralyzed.

He fought to the end. We did our best.”

Michael Odhiambo Oyier has been laid to rest in a private ceremony Friday May 3.

A requiem mass was held May 1 at the All Saints Cathedral. 

Mourners gathered in Homabay, where they said their final prayers and allowed to view his body, before the close family retreated to lay him to rest.
