As the political landscape gears up for Kithure Kindiki’s swearing-in as deputy president, Uhuru Gardens appears surprisingly quiet in the lead-up to the highly anticipated ceremony.  Kithure Kindiki (pictured lifting a Bible) was set to be sworn in on Saturday, according to State House Chief of Economic Advisors Moses Kuria. President William Ruto’s economic advisor, Moses Kuria, had previously claimed that the installation ceremony would take place at the historic venue on Saturday, October 19. Sharing updates via social media, Kuria posted images of himself inspecting the grounds and working alongside government officials.

“Inspecting the site for tomorrow’s swearing-in of H.E. Kithure Kindiki, third Deputy President under the 2010 Constitution of Kenya,” Kuria tweeted on the evening of Friday, October 18, indicating a significant event was set to unfold. Is Kindiki’s swearing-in underway However, a recent spot-check at Uhuru Gardens revealed a startling absence of activity in preparation for Kindiki’s installation. Kenyans noted that the area seemed unusually still, with little to no visible setup for the political ceremony. Instead, many of the technicians present appeared occupied with preparations more suited for a music concert than a governmental event. Typically, such significant ceremonies are marked by a strong military presence and visible security arrangements.

However, on this occasion, the absence of these elements raised eyebrows and led to speculation that the event may have been postponed or even cancelled. As the day unfolds, all eyes remain on Uhuru Gardens, with Kenyans eagerly awaiting official confirmation regarding the event’s status.
