Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has found himself at the centre of renewed discussions surrounding his children with Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan after footage of him speaking affectionately about them resurfaced online.
In the video, the Bongo Flava star is seen performing in Kampala, Uganda, where he paused his performance to acknowledge Zari and the two children they share.
Diamond told the audience that Zari had blessed him with two beautiful children, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan, whom he described as his firstborns.
“She blessed me with two kids, beautiful kids, Tiffah and Nillan. I love them so much. And as you know, those are my first kids,” he said.
The singer went on to dedicate a Luganda love song, Nkumira Omukwano, by Ugandan musician Aziz Azion, to his former partner, with the audience joining him during the performance.
Diamond Platnumz’s remarks on Zari’s children
Diamond’s remarks have attracted renewed attention amid online discussions about his relationship with his son, Prince Nillan.
The conversations reportedly intensified after his daughter’s 40-day celebration with singer Zuchu, when some social media users questioned his interaction with Nillan.
Some users went further to raise questions about the boy’s paternity, sparking debate about Diamond’s relationship with the young boy.
However, Diamond has continued to publicly acknowledge Nillan as his son, including during the Kampala performance, where he mentioned him alongside his elder sister.
Diamond and Zari’s children
Diamond and Zari welcomed their first child, Princess Tiffah, in August 2015. Their son, Prince Nillan, was born in December 2018.
The former couple ended their romantic relationship in 2018 but have continued to share parenting responsibilities.
Zari has since moved on and married South African businessman Shakib Cham, while Diamond has also been linked to other relationships, including his romance with singer Zuchu.
Despite their separation, Diamond has occasionally spoken fondly about the children he shares with Zari.
His remarks have once again drawn attention to the former couple’s family, particularly amid the ongoing online conversations surrounding Nillan.
