“Don’t Grow With Him”: MC Jessy’s Bold Relationship Advice to Women

Award-winning TV host and comedian MC Jessy has ignited an online conversation after sharing blunt views on love and personal growth on the Tubonge Show podcast. The comedian told women what he believes they should stop doing in relationships.

In the studio interview, Jessy addressed women directly. He argued that building a life alongside a man is a gamble, claiming that once men succeed, they tend to move on instead of bringing along the woman who stood by them.

Jessy was blunt in his message to women. “Stop this nonsense of growing with the man,” he said.

“Because this man, and you bear me witness, you grow with them, they will grow and leave you behind.” Jessy told women to prioritize their own development over a partner’s progress.

Advice for men in their 20s

He then urged young men to spend their twenties making money and building independence before settling down. His example was a 26-year-old man and his 24-year-old partner, who would be 46 and 44 in 20 years.

In his view, the gap between them closes in a way that changes the dynamic completely. He urged the man in his example to rethink his choices instead of rushing into building a life too soon.

“As a man, in your 20s, put your house in order,” Jessy said.

“Put your ducks in a row.” When asked about his own approach in his 20s, Jessy said he was speaking from experience.

Clip gains traction online

Filmed in a professional studio with a red-curtained backdrop, the Tubonge Show clip was cut into a vertical video with bold animated captions. That format helped it gain quick traction on social media.

Jessy is a familiar name in Kenya, working as both a comedian and an MC at events. His following helps explain why his take on relationships and life advice has drawn attention.
