Kenyan music producer and singer Magix Enga has announced that he is single, revealing that his relationship with his new wife has come to an end.
Magix shared the news in a video circulating online on Thursday, September 17, where he appeared to address his relationship status directly.
The producer was brief in his message, telling his followers:
“Mapenzi sio rahisi. Nimeachwa. I’m single, guys.”
The announcement comes only months after Magix made his relationship with Joy, popularly known as Jojo, official through a civil marriage ceremony in Nakuru.
From marriage to announcing a split
Magix and Jojo’s relationship had attracted public attention since they made their union official.
The producer had previously shared moments from their relationship online, with the couple appearing together in photos and videos.
However, their relationship also faced speculation earlier this year.
In June, reports circulated claiming that Magix and Jojo had separated. At the time, the producer dismissed the reports and maintained that their marriage was still intact.
The latest announcement therefore marks a change from his earlier position, with Magix now publicly stating that he is single.
Magix recently defended his wife.
The announcement also comes shortly after Magix publicly defended Jojo amid criticism directed at her online.
On September 3, the producer called out what he described as hypocrisy from people who criticised his wife publicly while privately approaching him for financial assistance.
His comments came as Jojo continued to attract attention online.
Earlier in September, Jojo was also reported to have spoken about Magix’s children, including inviting their mothers to bring the children home so they could be raised and cared for together.
Magix does not reveal the reason for the breakup.
While announcing that he had been left, Magix did not disclose what led to the end of the relationship.
He also did not provide details about when the breakup happened or whether there had been a specific incident that led to their separation.
For now, his statement only confirms that he considers himself single.
Jojo had not publicly addressed Magix’s announcement at the time of writing.
