Raila Airways Founder Sheila Mutundi Jets into Kenya, Visits Parents

Singapore-based Kenyan runway model Sheila Mutundi has caused ripples on social media after jetting into the country. Sheila Mutundi founded Raila Airways. The Raila Airways founder landed on Kenyan soil, and on Tuesday, May 5, she shared thrilling photos of her reunion with her family. The photo carousel shared was a contrast of life a few years back and their life now, as she recounted great changes and growth for them as a family. Who founded Raila Airways? The photos showed her next to her father and mother in their new compound and next to her Range Rover, which she was proud to show her parents. The next photograph showed their home in the past, marking a striking difference from then to now. Sheila captioned the pictures by writing these. “I hadn’t seen my parents in such a long time, and this trip has meant everything to me. I am so grateful to see them alive, healthy and thriving. My parents even got to see a Range Rover for the first time. We’ve been taking little trips here and there, just enjoying every moment. Truly, we are so lucky to be alive and experiencing all these. The last two photos are from five years ago, and the background has completely changed. It’s been quite a journey, and we thank God.” In early 2026, Sheila announced a business venture, a new airline she was opening named after the late Raila Odinga. She often recounts starting life from a humble background, saying that her dad was a watchman. Her first true shot at fame came in 2025 when she was spotted in Bali vacationing with George Ruto, son of President William Ruto. Sheila explained that her encounter with George occurred by chance while she was in Bali with a male friend, stressing that there was no romantic relationship between them. She also noted that the negative reactions affected her emotionally and financially, while maintaining that the situation was widely misunderstood on social media. What did Kenyans say about Sheila Mutundi? Here are a few comments from netizens following her return to the country. Kelvin Sanya: “Pongezi sana. She should also change her name to Raila.” Melvin Bella: “From grass to grace. Humility and hard work pay.” Francis Mwangangi: “She really has pulled this off? Buying a plane isn’t a joke. Congratulations.”
