A Tanzanian lady and online sensation has left netizens in stitches after sharing a video speaking fluent English in Tanzania. A Tanzanian influencer flaunted her English. Kenya and Tanzania occasionally engage in light-hearted online supremacy battles; in many cases, Kenyans have settled the banter by highlighting their stronger command of English. The woman, identified as Abdi Najma, recorded herself asking for directions to her room in fluent English, confusing the Tanzanian men who were around. She appeared to be doing so intentionally and having fun creating the confusion. The video shared through her social media pages on Wednesday, April 8, has created ripples among her fans from both Kenya and Tanzania. In the clip, the lady records herself asking for room directions. “Hi, I am going to B 104; first floor; yes, first floor.” The man whose face does not show in the video responds by confessing he does not understand English and calls a second person, another man, to help the lady instead; the hilarious exchange continues, with the lady asking them to open the door. “Can you open the door for me?” The voice is heard speaking in incomprehensible English as he struggles to put the words together. The second person helps her to the room while the first voice is still heard, amusingly confessing that he does not speak a word in English. The lady in the video appeared to have fun causing trouble with her spoken English; she captioned the video with a hilarious comment. “Terrorising my countrymen with English because sikulipiwa school fees ya Kenyan schools bure. Maximising my use of free will, no harm intended, it is all just for fun,” she captioned the clip, with a laughing-face emoji.
