President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto, has attracted attention online after giving Kenyans a glimpse into his personality, business interests and football preferences during a quick-fire interview.
The interview, filmed indoors against a striped backdrop, was shared online after George sat down for a candid question-and-answer session with Swahilipot FM on August 28, 2026.
One of the moments that quickly caught attention came when he was asked to describe himself in three words.
“Outgoing, handsome and energetic,” George responded.
His answer triggered a wave of reactions online, with some Kenyans joking about his confidence while others agreed with his description.
George says people mistake him for a politician
George was also asked about a common misconception people have about him.

He said some people assume he is a politician because of his family background.
“They think I’m a politician.”
George has previously spoken about the need to establish an identity separate from his father’s political career.
From clothing to matatus
George revealed that his entrepreneurial journey has included both setbacks and successful investments.
He identified a clothing line as his first business venture, saying the experience taught him important lessons about running a business.
“My first business, which is a clothing line, taught me how to run a business.”
He later ventured into the matatu industry, describing the investment as a risk that paid off.
“Invested in the matatu business.”
George has previously been associated with transport, sports and fashion ventures.
His interests include the Raptor Family matatu fleet, 82 Sports and Tisap Threads. He also founded Jamhuri Sports Academy, which focuses on developing young footballers.
Messi, Arsenal and dancing
Football also featured prominently in the conversation.
