Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Outages in Select Counties on Saturday, August 29

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned electricity interruptions in selected areas on Saturday, August 29, as the utility company carries out network maintenance. A past image of KPLC technicians working on a power line.  The scheduled outages will affect customers in parts of Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia counties between 9 am and 5 pm. The utility company said the interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance of its electricity network and regretted any inconvenience that may arise during the exercise. “The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” Kenya Power said. Which areas in Uasin Gishu will be affected? In Uasin Gishu County, the maintenance will affect Murgor Hills and surrounding areas. The affected locations are Murgor Hills, Katanin, Nyigoon, Tiret, Kaptebee, Kaplemur, Elgon Estate and adjacent customers. The interruption is scheduled to run from 9 am to 5 pm. Which areas in Trans Nzoia will be affected? In Trans Nzoia County, the outage will affect areas around Aturukan and Kibomet. The listed areas are Aturukan Hotel, Mt. Elgon Dairies, Sinendet Centre, Kibomet Pri, Bishop Yego, Sirwo Resort, Mwaita Pri Sch, Tuguin Centre, Kiptenden, Kuriot, Parkera, Murguio and adjacent customers. Electricity supply in the affected locations will be interrupted from 9 am to 5 pm. Customers in the affected areas have been advised to make the necessary arrangements before the scheduled outage.
