George Ruto’s Matatu Empire Grows With Mysterious “98 Logistics” Venture

George Ruto’s matatu crew appears to be expanding its transport operation after Raptor Fam unveiled a new project dubbed 98 Logistics.

The team behind the President’s youngest son’s customized matatu fleet took to Instagram with posts hinting at a new chapter for the brand.
The teaser showed several matatus inside a garage as they were fitted with the 98 Logistics branding.
The vehicles appear different from some of the customized matatus already associated with the Raptor Fam name, raising questions about whether the project will introduce a larger fleet or bring new vehicles under the 98 brand.

“The Raptor family expands. We bring you a new project known as 98 LOGISTICS.”

Raptor Fam hints at new project.

The post was shared jointly by Raptor Fam and a new Instagram account using the name 98 Logistics.

However, the posts did not provide detailed information about the project, including its planned routes, number of vehicles or whether it will operate as a separate transport business.

The images instead offered a glimpse of the preparation taking place inside a garage, where the vehicles were being given the new livery.
The move comes as George’s presence in Nairobi’s matatu industry continues to grow.

From Raptor to 98 SACCO

George’s transport venture has gained attention largely because of the highly customized vehicles associated with the Raptor Fam identity.

The fleet has been linked to matatus including Raptor, Money Fest, Matrix, Mood, Manifest and Baba Yaga.
Mood, for instance, has been described as a 25-seater fitted with features including a DJ booth, bucket seats, charging ports and a large television screen.

What does 98 Logistics mean?

For now, the exact business model behind 98 Logistics remains unclear.
Raptor Fam has not publicly detailed whether the project will focus exclusively on passenger transport, introduce additional PSV vehicles, or venture into another area of logistics.
The images, however, suggest that preparation is already underway.
The timing is notable because the new project comes only months after the launch of 98 SACCO, suggesting that the wider 98 brand could be developing beyond the vehicles that first made Raptor Fam popular.
