Reason Njugush is Rejecting Calls After World Cup

Kenyan comedian Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, has left fans amused after sharing a light-hearted reaction to Argentina’s defeat in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

Njugush, who had openly backed Argentina, posted a video on social media shortly after Spain edged the South American giants 1-0 to lift the World Cup trophy.
Rather than dwell on the result, the comedian joked that he wanted nothing to do with anyone calling him after the painful defeat.

“Mtu asiniambie mimi!”

In the video, Njugush humorously warned friends against trying to reach him following Argentina’s loss.

“Mtu asiniambie mimi.”

He went on to joke that he would not answer any late-night phone calls from friends looking to tease him over the result.

“Monday mnaniamsha na masimu. Saa saba usiku unanipigia simu. Unadhani naweza shika simu yako?”

His remarks suggested he expected plenty of banter from friends after the match, something that has become common among football supporters whenever major tournaments end.
