Why Milly Wa Jesus Refuses to Watch ‘The Polygamist’

Kenyan content creator and influencer Milly Wa Jesus has sparked conversations online after sharing her thoughts on the trending documentary The Polygamist, revealing that she has no plans to watch it.

In a post shared on her Instagram Stories, Milly questioned how married people over the age of 30 find the time to binge-watch series, suggesting that rest and family life should take priority.
“Over 30 years old wenye mko kwa ndoa, where are you getting the time to watch a series? You’d better even sleep or be doing mambo ya ndoa,” she wrote.
Her comments came amid growing public interest in The Polygamist, a series that has generated widespread discussion on social media due to its controversial themes surrounding relationships, family dynamics, and personal choices.

Fans weigh in

After Milly’s remarks were reposted by entertainment blog  Nairobi_gossip_club , followers flooded the comment section with mixed reactions.
Content creator 2mbili joked that the documentary’s publicity was becoming difficult to ignore. “Mnaniogopesha hata kuwasha TV. Kwani, what’s happening in that documentary?”
Another follower, royalrubygirl, referenced one of the documentary’s revelations, commenting: “Mtu akona mtoto na cousin yake.” Jackie_ogaga said, “Kitambo nilikua nasema hivi.”

Not everyone agreed

While some followers supported Milly’s stance, others argued that watching the documentary does not necessarily mean endorsing polygamy.
One user, miss_moraa41, wrote: “Who said we are watching because we believe in polygamy? Watch the movie to learn about choosing yourself, and if you don’t want to shut up.”
The exchange highlighted the differing opinions among viewers, with some seeing the documentary as a lesson in self-worth and personal decision-making rather than a promotion of polygamous relationships.
