Majembe Pauses Training for One Month Ahead of Mbavu Fight

The war of words between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer has taken yet another dramatic twist.
This time with Majembe claims he will temporarily stop training to make their upcoming fight “free and fair.
In his latest Instagram post, Majembe addressed Mbavu directly in a video that has since sparked mixed reactions online.

“First of all, congratulations Mbavu Destroyer umepata Coach na umeanza zoezi. Hiyo ni kitu fiti saana,” Majembe began, acknowledging Mbavu’s recent move to secure professional coaching and begin structured training.

However, what followed caught many fans by surprise.

“Nataka Tufanane Level Moja”

Majembe went on to state that since Mbavu has just begun formal training, he (Majembe) is considering slowing down his own preparation to ensure they are evenly matched.

“Na kwa hivyo venye umeanza zoezi, na mimi pia nimekua nikipiga tizi, nataka sasa nitulie, nikae chini bila tizi for 1 month. Nataka tufanane tukue level moja, si ati Majembe ulimpiga juu ulikua rada,” he said.

Translated loosely, Majembe suggested he doesn’t want accusations that he won simply because he was more prepared.

Instead, he claims he wants both fighters to enter the ring at the same level.

He concluded with a bold and slightly provocative line:

“Sitaki nikuue bure.”

Mind Games or Genuine Sportsmanship?

The statement has divided fans.

Some supporters interpret Majembe’s remarks as psychological warfare — a classic tactic in combat sports meant to get into an opponent’s head.

By implying that he is already ahead in preparation and can afford to rest, Majembe appears to be reinforcing the narrative that he holds the upper hand.

Others see it as sarcastic banter rather than a literal plan to stop training.

Boxing analysts argue that no serious fighter would voluntarily pause preparation just weeks before a scheduled bout.

Context of the Rivalry

The build-up to the April 4 fight has been fueled by:

Social media exchanges

TikTok challenge confrontations

Public debates about ring experience

Discussions around professional coaching

Mbavu recently began professional training with support from Ramcy Don, a move many fans believe significantly improved his preparation.

Prior to that, Mbavu had been training informally, often seen doing intense physical workouts without structured ring drills.

Majembe, on the other hand, has been viewed as the more experienced fighter, having previously demonstrated solid ring IQ in past matches.

Fans React Online

The Instagram reel quickly attracted thousands of views and reactions. In the comment sections:

Some fans laughed, calling it “next-level trolling.”

Others urged Majembe not to underestimate Mbavu.

A section of viewers speculated that the rivalry is boosting the fight’s visibility more than any official promotion could.

One thing is clear — whether Majembe truly plans to pause training or is simply playing mind games, the psychological battle is in full swing.

With the April 4 showdown approaching fast, fans are watching closely to see whether the confidence displayed online will translate into performance inside the ring.

For now, the hype continues to grow — and the rivalry just got even more interesting.
