At least six workers were injured when a building under construction collapsed at the junction of Racecourse/Kirinyaga Road, Nairobi.
Rescuers said one of them had serious injuries. The construction was being carried out at night when the structure collapsed.
Police said the incident happened at about 4 am on February 11, 2026.
Central Police commander Stephene Nyakombo said there were 18 workers at the site when it collapsed.
“We have so far rescued and accounted for all of the workers. Out of the 18, six were injured while others were rescued with no injuries,” said Nyakombo.
He said rescue teams responded to the scene and managed to help those trapped.
Nyakombo said a team is investigating how and why the house was being constructed at night.
“We will seek answers from among the county officials,” he said.
The scene was cordoned off as the rescue teams worked on the same.
This comes less than a month after a building under construction collapsed and killed two people in South C, Nairobi.
The issue is still under probe.
