Eric Omondi tears leg ligaments during charity trek to Mombasa

Activist Eric Omondi on Tuesday tore his ligaments in his left leg and hip during his walk from Nairobi to Mombasa.

Omondi has been walking to raise funds to build The Sisi Kwa Sisi Rescue Centre.

Speaking on his TikTok page, he said the team had been driven by “excitement, anticipation and hype” at the start of the journey.

At one point, he ran from Nyayo Stadium to Bellevue. In the early hours on Tuesday, Omondi appeared energetic and jumpy, but the physical strain soon took its toll, leaving him injured.

Despite the setback, he declared that the journey would not stop.

“We continue tomorrow,” he said, insisting that he will walk to Mombasa despite the pain. He even vowed to crawl if necessary to complete the mission.

The comedian expressed gratitude to his supporters for backing the Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative, which aims to establish a rescue centre equipped with ambulances, a clinic, a warehouse and a free secondary school.

“May God bless you,” he said, acknowledging the encouragement he has received both online and on the ground.

Omondi’s TikTok page has become the main source of updates on the journey, where he continues to share his progress and determination.

The Comedian set off on an extraordinary 486-kilometre journey from Nairobi to Mombasa, determined to raise funds for a new help and rescue centre.

The initiative, dubbed the “Walk of Love,” began at Nyayo National Stadium on February 10, 2026, where a crowd of supporters gathered to cheer him on.

Omondi said every step of the journey is dedicated to creating the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre, a facility aimed at providing essential services to communities in need.
