Prominent city car dealer Khalif Kairo has taken to his X (formerly Twitter) page to issue a stark warning about the illicit and often nasty practices some individuals resort to in their pursuit of wealth and riches.

In a candid post, Kairo, known for his presence in Nairobi’s automotive business, detailed various dark methods he claims people employ to acquire money.

“People out here doing nasty things to make money,” Kairo wrote. He went on to list specific, alarming examples: “Some go to witchdoctors, offer human sacrifices, and some even sleep in coffins in Tanzania.”

Kairo’s post served as a strong admonition, urging the public to exercise extreme caution in their daily interactions and business dealings. “So, exercise a lot of caution before you sleep, do business or go drinking with people,” he advised.

He concluded his message with a spiritual recommendation, stating, “Na mpende Mungu, he is the only one who can protect you” (And love God, he is the only one who can protect you).”

This blunt statement quickly circulated, prompting widespread engagement.

Many users echoed Kairo’s sentiment, reinforcing the call for vigilance and divine protection.

@NyokabiNgigi simply responded, “God first”, while @virouxw affirmed, “True, caution is key with shady dealings out there. Trust in God for protection solid advice”.

Another user, @farraysmukui, expressed strong agreement, stating, “Kabisa. Tell them” (Exactly. Tell them).

The mention of sleeping in coffins also resonated with some, with @GideonM16951983 affirming, “Hapo Kwa sleeping in coffins nayo ni ukweli” (The part about sleeping in coffins is true).

However, Kairo’s specific reference to Tanzania sparked a defensive reaction from some quarters.

@FaridTroy2 questioned, “@KhaliffKairo why single out Tz? These things happen in most of Coastal places in Kenya. Hv u ever been to Tz in the first place? Please just stop the negativity with Tz”, suggesting the phenomenon is not exclusive to one region.

Other responses directly questioned Kairo’s source of information, implying potential personal experience.

@esir_kings asked, “Talking out of experience?”, while @jamakiauto inquired, “How did you know all this, you must have tried this or one of your close friend 🤔”.

A more pointed comment from @MrKimKe speculated, “He is talking about what he has been doing until it backfired…”

Some reactions adopted a more cynical or even critical stance.

@ElijahJohn78931 offered a pragmatic, albeit controversial, view, stating, “As long us they are doing their business let them be even witchdoctor needs money 😂”.

Meanwhile, @albertndege_ remarked, “One characteristic of conmanship is that they often claim to be very religious”, potentially casting doubt on Kairo’s closing spiritual advice.
