Kenyan actor Emmanuel Wambugu, popularly known as Junior from the once-hit KTN drama series Junior, has sparked lively conversation online after candidly revealing his preference for older women during a playful TikTok live session with Germany-based Kenyan content creator Pilot Nyako.
The engaging chat, which aired on Monday night, quickly drew a large online audience as the pair exchanged humorous and revealing banter.
Junior, who shot to national fame as a child actor, is now in his twenties and has maintained a relatively low profile since his time on television.
During the discussion, Junior revealed that he stepped away from acting because the Kenyan entertainment industry offered limited financial rewards.
Before leaving the limelight, he had also ventured into music, dabbling in Gengetone—a move, he shared, that didn’t sit well with his mother.
With many Kenyan women still admiring the actor from his younger days, the question of his relationship status naturally arose.
In her trademark candid style, Nyako asked Junior about the type of women he finds attractive. Without hesitation, he responded, “I’m not even going to lie—I’m attracted to older women. There’s just something about how they carry themselves, their confidence. It’s not about money or anything—it’s just the maturity for me.”

Nyako, clearly amused, burst into laughter and jokingly quipped, “Junior, are you trying to make a move on me live?”
The two continued their light-hearted exchange, with Nyako teasingly offering herself as a “potential candidate,” while Junior kept his composure but appeared to enjoy the playful conversation.
Clips from the live session quickly went viral across social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, with many fans sharing their surprise at how much the former child star has grown.
The chat drew a wave of mixed reactions, with some praising Junior’s honesty while others expressed nostalgia at seeing the once-young actor now discussing adult topics.
“This is not the Junior I grew up watching on KTN! He’s all grown and smooth now,” one viewer commented.
Another remarked, “Older women really are the soft spot for many young men these days—Junior just said what most are too shy to admit.”
Since Junior went off-air several years ago, Emmanuel Wambugu has largely kept out of the public eye, focusing on personal projects.
The show, which ran for multiple seasons, made him a household name as he played the witty, mischievous young boy navigating family life in middle-class Nairobi.
