Georgina Njenga Admits Why She Cried to Strangers During Depression Battle

Popular influencer and content creator Georgina Njenga has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing how her renewed faith in God helped her overcome a dark period marked by depression.

In a heartfelt testimony shared on her platform, Georgina recounted how she had unknowingly lived in emotional darkness for a long time before discovering healing and peace through her relationship with God.

“Thank you, Jesus, because I believed in you at my lowest. I prayed to you. I knew you’d come through, and you came through. What would I do other than use my platform to praise you?” she wrote, expressing gratitude for her spiritual transformation.

The mother of one appears to be in a much healthier place today. She recently began a sobriety journey, adopted a more balanced lifestyle, and even celebrated what she described as healthy weight gain.

In her reflections, Georgina said she no longer seeks love or affirmation from people—God’s love has become enough for her.

She also revealed that her struggle with depression had reached such a severe level that some of the brands she worked with noticed and reached out, concerned about her well-being.

“I’m realising God and Jesus have been the light to me. Like, it’s so crazy the way you can never understand the light and the darkness until you go through it,” she said.

Georgina affirmed her faith in the Holy Trinity—God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit—saying she is now committed to walking fully in the light.

She explained the significance of the semicolon tattoo on her hand, noting that it symbolises her journey as a survivor of depression—a quiet but powerful reminder of everything she has endured.

“I’ve seen darkness, and when I think of it, and I see the light, I’m like, baby girl, you went through all that and survived. And anyway, let God be God, let Jesus be God, let the Holy Spirit be the Holy Spirit, and let their names be praised. Because one day, if I sit down and tell you my story—beyond what all of you know—it’s going to be different,” she said.

Georgina also reflected on the isolation she felt during that period, recalling moments when she found it safer to open up to strangers than to those close to her.

“I will never forget the day I cried to people I barely knew because it felt safer,” she admitted.

Looking ahead, the influencer shared her desire to one day document her full experience in a detailed video, explaining that much of what the public saw on social media was only a glimpse into her private struggles.

She closed her message with a word of encouragement for her fans, especially one who had reached out to her about their own battle with depression.

“To anyone going through anything, if I am finally healing—and I went through things publicly and worse privately—you can do it too.”
