Bishop Anyolo leads Catholics in marking Good Friday in Nairobi

Bishop Philip Anyolo, Archbishop of Nairobi, has led Catholic faithful to take part in a reenactment of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and death in observance of Good Friday.

Good Friday is a significant Christian holiday observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.

Christians worldwide mark the day with solemn services, prayer, fasting, and reflection.

Many churches hold special ceremonies, including reading the Passion of Christ and reenacting the events leading to his crucifixion.

Despite its name, “Good” Friday reflects the belief that Jesus’ sacrifice led to the salvation of humanity.

It’s a day of mourning, reverence, and deep spiritual meaning, forming a key part of the Holy Week leading up to Easter.
