Long-serving Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier is set to be re-elected unopposed after being the only candidate to be cleared for the position by the club’s electoral board.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, Rachier who has been at the helm of the Kenyan giants since 2008 will sail through without breaking a sweat in the elections set for April 13, as is Victor Omondi who will also take over the vice chairperson position unopposed.

“This is to inform you that Gor Mahia Football Club Election Board received the following applications for consideration and clearance to contest the four (4) vacant positions in the management of Gor Mahia Football Club. After a thorough scrutiny and review, the Election Board cleared the following candidates to contest in the forthcoming election,” said the Electoral Board chairman Gichu Wahome.

The position of Secretary General has attracted three candidates including incumbent Sam Ocholla who is seeking a second and final term after he was elected in the position in 2020.

Ocholla will square it out with Nicanor Arum and Unbwogable hit maker and renowned radio personality Joseph Ogidi Oyoo alias Gidi Gidi.
