The Government will construct modern hostels in all Universities and Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions to give students a safe and conducive environment to study.

Speaking in Tharaka Nithi County, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki noted that government will construct a modern hostel that will accommodate 1,200 students and complete all stalled projects.

DP Kindiki spoke during President William Ruto’s official Mt. Kenya tour, where he opened a tuition complex at Tharaka University and interacted with over 8,000 students in the institution.

“The Government will construct modern hostels in all Universities and Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions to give students a safe and conducive environment to study, acquire skills and prepare them to participate in the socio-economic transformation of the Country.” DP Kindiki said.

Adding that: “In Tharaka University, we will construct a modern hostel that will accommodate 1,200 students and complete all stalled projects, including the administration block, build roads leading to the University and improve the water and sanitation infrastructure.” He said.

According to the DP, through deliberate policy, administrative and legislative interventions, the Kenya Kwanza Administration is determined to give all students the best opportunity to learn in institutions that are financially stable, well equipped, offering relevant courses that align with government’s transformative agenda.
