Kericho: Investigations as newborn baby abandoned in tea farm

Residents of Kaminjeiywet village in Chemosot Ward, Bureti in Kerich County, were left in disbelief after a newborn baby was found abandoned in a nearby tea farm.

The infant was found by locals who were drawn to the section of the tea farm by his cries.

Upon conducting a search, they found the baby boy wrapped in a piece of cloth.

The villagers raised an alarm, promptly reporting the matter to local authorities, who notified officers from Ngoina Road police post.

Police officers arrived swiftly, and took the baby to Kapkatet Sub County Hospital for immediate medical attention and examination.

In the aftermath of the shocking event, law enforcement agencies have launched a manhunt for the individual responsible for abandoning the newborn.
