A schoolgirl who was involved in a boiler explosion accident at an apartment in Nyali, Mombasa county, is set to be laid to rest. Georgina Aluoch will be buried three months after passing away at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). When will Georgina be buried? The Form Three student at Alliance Girls High School died after suffering 65% burns following the explosion.
She was holidaying in Mombasa alongside her mother, Joyce Ong’ombe, who suffered 45% burns. “The burial for Georgina is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 11. On Wednesday, April 9, we will be in church in Lavington, then the body will leave on Thursday, April 10 for a night vigil in Migori county before being lowered the following day,” Calvince Ong’ombe, Georgina’s cousin, told Nation. The teenager will be buried in the same month her late father and two siblings were buried, 15 years ago. Where will Georgina be buried? She will be buried within the vicinity of Kakrao village, where her other three family members were laid to rest. Georgina lost her father, brother and sister when she was an infant after the car they were in was washed away by floods along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road. The family and the church where Joyce is a deaconess wanted to stall Georgina’s burial untill her mother recovered.
